How Depop fees work
Depop charges sellers in two parts. First, a payment-processing fee — a percentage of the total transaction (item price plus the shipping you charge) plus a small fixed amount. Second, a selling fee where it still applies in your market; Depop has changed this over time and removed it in some regions, which is why this calculator lets you switch it off.
The formula
Payout = (item price + shipping) − selling fee − payment fee. Your profit is that payout minus what you paid for the item. The default rates shown (10% selling fee, 2.9% + a small fixed payment fee) are typical values — always confirm the current figures in your Depop account and adjust the fields.
A worked example
Say you sell a jacket for £30 with £3.50 shipping, and it cost you £8. The buyer pays £33.50. With the selling fee switched on at 10%, Depop takes £3.35, and the payment fee at 2.9% + £0.30 takes about £1.27 — roughly £4.62 in fees. Your payout is about £28.88, and after the £8 you paid, your profit is close to £20.88, a margin of about 62%. Switch the selling fee off, and the same sale nets you around £24.23. Because rates differ by country and change over time, treat the defaults as a starting point and update them to your account.
