How marketplace fees compare
Every marketplace takes its cut differently. Vinted charges private sellers no selling fee in most markets — the buyer pays Buyer Protection — so the seller keeps the most. Depop, Grailed and Etsy combine a selling fee with a payment-processing fee. Since May 2026 Grailed charges 6% commission (min $1.99) on sales under $120 and 9% at $120 and above, plus payment processing of 3.49% + $0.49 for US sellers or 4.99% + $0.49 for international sellers — the comparison uses the international rate EU sellers pay. eBay charges a final value fee on the item plus shipping, with a fixed order fee — though for private sellers in most of the EU that final value fee is now 0%. Vestiaire Collective charges a 17% selling fee plus a 3% payment fee in the EUR market (12% in GBP/USD/CAD, with a fixed fee on low-value items). StockX takes a transaction fee plus a payment fee on the sale price only, since the buyer pays shipping via a prepaid label.
Why compare before you list
The same item can net very different amounts depending on where it sells. Comparing payout — not just headline price — tells you where to prioritise, or how to price the same item differently per channel. For the exact fee breakdown per platform, use the dedicated Vinted, Depop, eBay, StockX and Vestiaire calculators.
A worked example
Take a €45 item with €4 buyer-paid shipping that cost you €12. On Vinted, with no seller fee, you keep the full €45 and profit €33. On Grailed the new 6% commission plus 4.99% + $0.49 international processing takes roughly 12% on a small item like this; on eBay a private EU seller now pays 0% final value fee (a business seller pays ~11–13% + €0.35); and on Vestiaire the EUR rate of 17% + 3% applies. Enter your own numbers above and the tool highlights the marketplace that returns the most — which is often the best place to list first, even if you crosslist everywhere.
The smartest move is usually to list on all of them at once and let the item sell wherever it sells fastest.
